Connect With English is an educational dramatized television series that was recorded in 1997 by the Annenberg/CPB Project and WGBH Boston for students of people learning English. The 48-episode program teaches English through use of a narrative fiction storyline and discussion segments featuring actual adult learners.
The show premiered in 1998 and is aired by many PBS stations in the United States and by The Annenberg Channel, a cable and satellite TV service available to schools and other community organizations. Notable featured actors include Karin Anglin, Carlos Lacamara and Mark Consuelos.
The Master Strikes
A martial arts master, Tseng Tien-Tu, is employed by master criminal Lung Tung Chien to transport a valuable jade horse. When the horse inexplicably goes missing, Chien demands Tseng's life savings as recompense, driving the uncomprehending Tseng insane. Two conniving con men, Li and Lung, try to convince Tseng that he was double-crossed by Chien, in an attempt to lead them to Chien's stockpile of swindled fortunes.

The story is about the Japanese occupation of Korea during World War II. A Korean patriot played by Carter Wong gets into a fight with some Japanese people and is chased into a church. The priest there is captured and tortured. Trying to secure his release, the leader of the resistance, Jhoon Rhee is himself captured and tortured by the Japanese. Carter Wong, Angela Mao and Anne Winton have to now try and rescue him. This leads to an explosive climax with the heroes having to fight the likes of Wong In Sik (Hwang In-Shik), Sammo Hung and Kenji Kazama.

China Strikes Back
In 1936 and 1937 Harry Dunham shot "several hundred feet of film," being the first cameraman to penetrate into the Shensi region and obtain footage of the Communist forces in China. He smuggled his film out and placed it in the hands of Frontier Films. Leyda, Lerner, Meyers and Maddow (they had to use pseudonyms) spent four months preparing the film for publication. In that time, the Chinese situation altered to such an extent that Frontier had to change the scenario several times in order to keep up with events...the producers had to make a happy change in the theme of China Strikes Back.
