To fulfill a need for an escape along with his lifelong dream of building something entirely from the start, a man found the perfect location on a remote island in the Bahamas. Then, he built the Thatch House -- an off-the-grid eco-friendly surf camp.

To celebrate the beauty of Baja California Sur’s oceanfront desert, a couple built Casa Pakal. Secluded amidst banana trees and cacti, Casa Pakal blends nature with various Mexican styles into a thoughtful haven where every detail tells a story.

In honor of her late husband, a woman transformed a 1957 beach cottage into her family’s dream home: the Shug Shack. She and her children celebrate his memory during a day of riding bikes, cooking lunch, enjoying the beach and spending time together.
